Eleven new artistic pieces have been added to the Yukon Permanent Art Collection.

The Government of Yukon has added 11 new works to the Yukon Permanent Art Collection (YPAC), featuring artists Eugene Alfred, Misha Donohoe, Basia Hinton, Jane Isakson, Stephanie Luneta-Stevens, Jeneen Frei Njootli, Margret Njootli, Andy Pelletier, Dustin Sheldon, Maria Rose Sikyea, and Michelle Williams. Eight of these artists are represented in the collection for the first time. The pieces were selected from 134 submissions by 64 artists through an annual call for submissions process managed by the Yukon government and the Friends of Yukon Permanent Art Collection. An exhibition of the works is planned for fall 2026, and images are available on Yukon.ca.

Student Show at the GRCC Art Gallery

The Paul Collins Art Gallery at Grand Rapids Community College is currently hosting its annual Student Show, featuring artwork created by GRCC students throughout the year. The exhibition, which runs until April 22, is the gallery's final rotation before the fall semester and includes pieces selected by the art department faculty from various classes, though some disciplines like interior design are underrepresented due to display challenges.

Niagara Falls juried art show puts out call for artists

The Niagara Falls culture committee is accepting submissions for its annual juried art exhibition. Local artists have until May 30 to submit up to two original works in mediums like painting, photography, fibre, and digital art, with selected artists notified in June. The exhibition will run from August 6 to November 7 at the Atrium Gallery in The Exchange, featuring cash awards for emerging artists, the mayor's selection, and best in show.
