This Spring at the Everhart Museum

The Everhart Museum in Scranton has unveiled its spring and summer programming, featuring a diverse lineup of exhibitions and community events. Highlights include a NASA-developed immersive exhibition on the Hubble Space Telescope, a long-term installation of Don Clark’s miniature recreations of Scranton landmarks, and a first-of-its-kind exhibition dedicated to the television series "The Office." The season also features collaborative events such as Scranton’s 160th Birthday Block Party and the Electric City Flower Show weekend.

Another gallery gone: Anderson-Brickler space closes after 9 years on Adams Street

Dr. Celeste Hart, a Tallahassee endocrinologist and daughter of the late Dr. A.D. Brickler, is closing the Anderson-Brickler Gallery after nine years on Adams Street. Opened in 2016, the gallery focused on Modern and Contemporary artists of the African Diaspora, hosting exhibitions by artists such as Joe Roache, Romare Bearden, and Kabuya Bowens-Saffo, as well as lectures, workshops, and thesis shows for Florida State University fine arts students. The space will be taken over by Stan J. Johnson, a professional photographer and FAMU professor, who plans to rename the gallery and continue exhibiting paintings while expanding into spoken word and music.

Calling all artists and makers – submissions now open for a special Stockport Centenary Open Exhibition

Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery is celebrating its centenary by launching a special Centenary Open Exhibition, inviting artists and makers from the Stockport area to submit one artwork each. Submissions are open for 2D, 3D, video, or digital works in various media, with entries accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from June 12–15, 2025. The exhibition will run from June 22 to August 22, 2025, and the public will vote for their favorite pieces, with winners announced in August. Additionally, the Michael Hartley Rose Award, presented by Stockport Art Guild, will recognize an artist aged 17–25.

Fisherton Mill to showcase 14 artists and makers on Salisbury Art Trail

Fisherton Mill in Salisbury will host 14 artists and makers as part of the Salisbury Art Trail, running from May 23 to June 7. The mill's first-floor display space will feature resident studio artists, while the main gallery presents 'Brush, Kiln & Camera', a group exhibition from the Nova Art Guild showcasing ceramics, paintings, glasswork, and photography by Fiona Charter, Tamsyn Gregory, Lindsay Keir, Scarlet Leatham, Geraldine McLoughlin, and David Walker. Visitors can meet artists daily during the trail, and admission is free.

Mattapoisett Students at O.R.R. Shine With Award-Winning Art

Students from Old Rochester Regional High School in Mattapoisett have swept top honors at the 9th Congressional District Art Competition. Ian Hartwig secured first place in the Drawing category, while Lauren Serpa and Jocelyn Yurof earned second and third place respectively in the Mixed Media category. Masonicare Hospice & Palliative Care has launched "Completing the Journey: The Art of Hospice Care," an art exhibit featuring works created by patients in hospice care across its senior living communities in Connecticut. The exhibit, the first of its kind from Masonicare in over 15 years, includes small artworks on self-standing screens, accompanied by portraits of the artists and brief statements about their creative process. It opened at the Hartog Activities Center in Wallingford on April 28 and will travel to other Masonicare facilities, including Rocky Hill, after previous stops in Chester and Mystic. The project was funded by the Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut.

Unique Cork art exhibition raises thousands in funding for charities

An art exhibition titled 'Retrospective of Works' held at the West End Art Studio in Mallow, Ireland, from July 23 to August 3, raised €6,600 for two charities. Organized by Colman Dalton and his wife Marie, the 10-day show featured approximately 65 works by Irish, British, and French artists, including pieces by James O’Halloran, Paul Kelly, Jack Vettriano, T.S. Lowry, and others. The opening night was so crowded that 20 people had to wait outside. A raffle on opening night generated the funds, which were split equally between Focus Ireland, a homelessness charity, and HART, a local dog rescue charity.

Elizabeth Smith and Sue Lowday unite for Isle of Wight Open Studios exhibition

Isle of Wight artist Elizabeth Smith will open her studio at Nightingales in Bonchurch from 17th to 25th May 2025 as part of the Isle of Wight Open Studios event. Her watercolour paintings and prints, including works from her Charting Ventnor series, capture the architecture and landscapes of the South Wight. Fellow artist and designer Sue Lowday, a former silversmith who now works in leather, will also exhibit at the same venue from 17th to 21st May, showcasing her handcrafted belts, bags, and other items.

Ten Local Galleries Part Of The First Friday Chattanooga Art Crawl

On the First Friday of May 2026, ten local galleries and studios in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will participate in the monthly First Friday Art Crawl, with extended evening hours from 5-8 PM. Participating venues include River Gallery, HART Gallery, In-Town Gallery, ICA @ UTC, BFA Open Studios @ UTC, Wavelength Space, Society of Work Northshore at The Velvet Lounge, ClearStory Arts, Stove Works, and AVA – Association for Visual Arts. Reconnecting with the Handmade: The Hart Gallery’s Ampersand student art exhibit

William & Mary students showcased their handmade artworks in the Hart Gallery's "Handmade" exhibit, held in conjunction with the Ampersand International Arts Festival. Curated by alumna Zara Fina Stasi '12, a Richmond-based artist and founder of Good for the Bees, the multimedia exhibition featured approximately a dozen student submissions including assemblage, collage, sculpture, sewn hangings, and traditional painting. Student curators Gibran Adnan '27 and Rebecca Graber '27 collaborated with Stasi to select and install the works, which explored themes of experimentation, self-expression, and the human process of creating by hand.

Former Guilford Student Selected For Prestigious Art Exhibition

Keoni Mcfee, a former Guilford High School student who graduated in 2025 and now attends the University of Hartford, has been selected for the 2025 AP Art and Design Digital Exhibition presented by the College Board. His artwork, drawn from his AP Drawing Sustained Investigation, explores the relationship between human growth and nature using mixed media, collage techniques, and wild-style graffiti. Mcfee is one of only 51 student artists chosen from over 82,000 portfolios submitted worldwide.
