The former Ville Couëlle complex in Sardinia's Costa Smeralda, an iconic example of organic architecture designed by French visionary Jacques Couëlle, has been officially transferred to the municipality of Arzachena after being seized from organized crime by Italy's National Agency for Seized and Confiscated Assets. The 37-million-euro property, spanning 30,000 square meters in the Abbiadori district, will be transformed into the first museum of the Costa Smeralda, featuring exhibition spaces, conference halls, educational labs, a bookshop, and a café.

Kingston’s Art After Dark showcases emerging artists, veterans alike

Kingston’s Art After Dark event took place on Friday, May 22, 2026, transforming downtown Kingston into an open gallery for three hours. Organized by the Downtown Kingston Business Improvement Area, the self-guided crawl featured over 30 venues including boutiques, studios, and improvised gallery spaces, showcasing painting, photography, sculpture, live demonstrations, and interactive art. Emerging artists and veterans alike participated, with painter David Gilmore demonstrating watercolour and body painter Cornelia Rose creating face art on patrons.

Ohio Collage Society exhibit opens at Ashland University gallery

The Coburn Art Gallery at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, is hosting a regional exhibition featuring 70 works by members of the Ohio Collage Society from May 29 to July 24. The free opening reception takes place on May 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The show includes both two-dimensional and three-dimensional collages, highlighting diverse materials and techniques. Featured artists include Anita Burgess, Nancy S. Sotka, Mary Ann Sedivy, and others. The Ohio Collage Society was founded in 2007 by Gretchen Bierbaum, who also founded the National Collage Society.

New art gallery in Waikiki showcases local artists

A new art gallery and community hub called The ART House has opened in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in Honolulu, showcasing curated products from 30 small businesses and more than 20 local artists from across Hawaii. Founder Danielle Rush of Illuminated ART Hawaii announced the gallery on HNN’s Sunrise, highlighting a Featured Artist Series that rotates every two months to spotlight individual creators. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for May 30th at 6 p.m. with free parking, and featured artists include painter Lauren Roth, Kris Goto, Haunani Hess, and others from Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island, Kauai, Lanai, and Molokai.
