Boulder County art shows on exhibit this week

Luca Fine Art, a new gallery founded by Rodney Kazemi, opens this weekend in the Star Metals Building on Howell Mill Road in West Midtown, Atlanta. New exhibition on local cold water swimmers at Bournemouth Hospital gallery

Photographer David Bird has unveiled a new exhibition titled "Cold Water Swimmers" at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s Art Space gallery. The series features before-and-after portraits of local swimming groups, such as Beyond the Blue in Poole, capturing the physical and emotional transformation of participants who brave the sea at sunrise without wetsuits. The project was developed during Bird's recent MA in Photography at Arts University Bournemouth, marking a return to academia after a 30-year career in commercial and press photography.

New exhibition showcasing work of 37 local artists opens

A new exhibition titled 'Unseen' has opened at The Old School House in Boscombe, showcasing the work of 37 local artists. Curated by Millie Lake, a Fine Art graduate from Arts University Bournemouth, in collaboration with Open School Creative, the show runs from October 30 to December 12 and features paintings, prints, mixed media, and ceramics responding to the theme of being unseen. A free open house celebration on November 1 includes a creative writing session and a community music performance.

Bournemouth’s street art scene comes alive in Boscombe

Boscombe hosted a new street art exhibition organized by the Raw Wall Collective inside the Sovereign Shopping Centre in Bournemouth. The pop-up gallery, which opened on 31 October, featured work from over 40 artists spanning graffiti, pop art, and digital design, with a launch night including DJs, performers, and live painting. Hundreds of visitors attended over the weekend, exploring displays that addressed themes of identity, mental health, and community.
