Art Gallery Opens a Community and Medicine Garden

The Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB) has launched a new Community and Medicine Garden, a collaborative initiative designed to enhance waterfront biodiversity and serve as a living classroom. The opening event features traditional seed songs by Kaniehtenhawi Deer, tobacco planting workshops led by Michele Dent, and activities focused on sustainable gardening. Artists-in-residence Carly Franklin and Kamaldeep Kaur are also utilizing the space to grow indigo and other plants for their research into natural pigments and textiles.

Tiny Gallery gives big spotlight for local art

Artist Jax Foster has launched Bowling Green’s Tiny Gallery, a miniature exhibition space located outside the Grounds for Thought cafe in downtown Bowling Green. The gallery officially opened on April 5 and features hand-crafted miniature works created by local artists, with the display rotating on a monthly basis to ensure a wide variety of community members can showcase their talent.

Local creatives participate in return of Artists in the Garden

The second annual "Artists in the Garden" showcase recently launched as part of the month-long Arts in April festivities on Longboat Key. Held outside the Longboat Island Chapel, the two-day exhibition featured thirteen local artists, including Marie Therese Lacroix, Collin Rowland, and Reid Ryan Gerletti, who presented works ranging from oil paintings to furniture crafted from reclaimed wood. The event reported strong sales, with 30% of proceeds donated to the Longboat Key Foundation to support community improvement projects.

March brings exhibits, music and workshops to New Bedford museum

The New Bedford Art Museum has announced a diverse programming schedule for March 2026, headlined by the exhibition "AHA! Night: Resistance." This show features contemporary Mexican artists utilizing sculpture, textiles, and performance documentation to explore themes of social justice, indigenous knowledge, and political dissent. Accompanying the exhibition is a specialized workshop led by Oaxacan artist Ricardo Ángeles, focusing on traditional Zapotec design and wood-painting techniques.
