‘Let’s Go Fly A Kite’ Show Opens Friday, May 1 At Fuller Lodge Art Center Gallery

The Los Alamos Arts Council and the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico present 'Let’s Go Fly A Kite', a paint-out and exhibition opening Friday, May 1 at the Fuller Lodge Art Center Gallery. The show features works created by 28 local and regional artists who painted outdoors at the 30th Annual Kite Festival and around the community, with many pieces depicting kites and their fliers at Overlook Park. A reception for LAAC members runs from 4:30-5:30 PM, followed by a public reception from 5:30-7 PM; the exhibition continues through May 29th.

Plein air art exhibition 'Historic Impressions on a Modern Canvas' opens Oct. 9 in St. Augustine

The St. Johns Cultural Council and the St. Augustine Art Association present the plein air art exhibition 'Historic Impressions on a Modern Canvas,' opening October 9 at the Rotunda Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida. Juried by artist Kathy Odom, the show features works created during the city's April Plein Air Paint Out and other local paint-out events at venues including the Lightner Museum Garden and Fort Mose Historic State Park. A public reception with a People's Choice Awards vote will be held on opening night.

The Escalante Canyons Art Festival returns September 18–27, 2026, in Southern Utah, inviting artists and visitors to engage with the landscape through plein air painting, studio submissions, and special categories like nocturne and miniature works. The festival offers over $10,000 in prizes, including a Best of Show purchase award of $1,500, and features a dedicated junior division with no entry fee. Highlights include the Escalante 150th Anniversary Paint-Out, workshops, live music, judges’ talks, historic walking tours, and a play by local playwright Raymond Shurtz, all set near the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument.

Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains to Hold 13th Annual Art Exhibit and Sale

The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore will host their 13th annual art exhibit and sale on April 19 at the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. The event features representational landscape and seascape paintings from approximately 20 local award-winning artists, all focused on the natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
