Dallas Museum of Art Announces 2026 Awards to Artists Grantees

The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) has named 21 recipients for its 2026 Awards to Artists, selected from a record 160 applicants. The grants total nearly $42,000 and are divided into three categories: the Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund (up to $1,500 for artists aged 15–25 in a five-state region), the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund (up to $3,500 for Texas artists under 30), and the Otis and Velma Davis Dozier Travel Grant (up to $6,000 for professional Texas artists over 30). All awardees are current Texas residents, with 16 based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A public celebration will be held at the DMA on May 19, 2026.

Virginia MOCA hosts free Community Day at new museum location

New gallery opens with nod to North Bay’s artistic past

Bloch Bauers Gallery of Fine Art has officially opened in downtown North Bay, Ontario, at 222 McIntyre St. W. The new space features regional, Indigenous, and Inuit art, along with works from private estates and consignments. Iron Horse Arts District announces new gallery, summer events, and Executive Director search

The Iron Horse Arts District in Holdrege, Nebraska, is launching a new gallery space called the Iron Horse Art Gallery inside the First State Bank of Holdrege, with a ribbon cutting and reception on June 11 featuring artist Christy Kosmicki. Studio B Boyertown Welcomes New Gallery Director, Announces New Exhibit

Studio B Boyertown has appointed Bob Hakun as its new gallery director. Hakun, an assemblage artist who creates works from found objects, previously worked as a computer graphic designer and prepress manager after his career designing Halloween masks and costumes moved overseas. He is a 1976 graduate of Kutztown University with a BFA in painting. The gallery is also presenting the exhibition “Form & Fiber: 3-Dimensional Expression in Art,” featuring 3-D and fiber works by Hakun and fifteen other artists, running through June 21.

'It's something we should all be concerned about' - Belfast studio moves to temporary hub amid rising costs

Vault Artist Studios, a Belfast-based arts collective with over 100 members including musicians, circus performers, and visual artists, has moved into a temporary hub at Bankmore House on Bedford Street after spending three years at Victoria Street and the Shankill Mission building. The collective, formed in 2017 to transform derelict buildings into affordable studio space, now provides studios for 30 artists plus a gallery and project space, with further space opening soon in a former Masonic Lodge on the lower Newtownards Road. The Castello di Sammezzano, a Moorish-style castle near Florence, Italy, is set for a major revival. Built in the 19th century by the Marquis Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona, the castle is one of Italy's most important examples of Orientalist architecture, featuring over sixty uniquely decorated rooms, a monumental park, and rare botanical species. After decades of neglect, auctions, and sporadic openings, the property was purchased in 2025 by the family of entrepreneur Giorgio Moretti, who plans a €50 million restoration. The first phase will focus on rehabilitating the historic gardens, with work beginning in June 2026.
