Step into House of Horrors spooky art exhibition for Halloween

Artists Clubhouse is hosting a Halloween-themed art exhibition called House of Horrors at The Artery Studios in Worcester from October 25 to November 1. The free event features creepy, autumnal, and 'downright horrible' works by local artists, along with themed workshops, a Spooky Shop supporting independent makers, and a hidden-tag treasure hunt for sweet treats.

Window to the past: Worcester history on show in Denholm installation

A new public art installation titled “Uniquely Worcester: Celebrating Worcester’s Past & Present” has opened in the windows of the Denholm Building in Worcester, Massachusetts. The exhibition features work from 10 local artists across eight front windows, highlighting the city’s history through themes such as sports, the arts, and notable figures like rocket pioneer Robert Goddard, Valentine card popularizer Esther Howland, and smiley face creator Harvey Ball. One window showcases Abu Mwenye’s vibrant paintings inspired by his Kenyan and Tanzanian heritage, while another displays musical instruments spanning 250 years, including a rope drum from the American Revolution and a guitar made at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The installation runs throughout 2026 and was organized by project manager Melissa Mattson.

Arts Council weaves 50 years of connection through new exhibit

The Worcester County Arts Council in Berlin, Maryland, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a juried art competition and exhibition titled “Threads of Connections.” The show invites artists to submit original works exploring relationships across communities, cultures, and shared experiences, with submissions accepted in all media. Local artist and muralist Olga Deshields will serve as juror, selecting pieces for the exhibition running May 1 through June 28 at the Arts Council’s Berlin gallery. Artwork drop-off is scheduled for April 28-30, with an opening reception on May 8.

Zombie economy! 'Walking Dead' actors bought art at Juniper Rag show

Actors and crew members from the TV show "The Walking Dead: Dead City" purchased artworks by local artists during the "Delirium" exhibition curated by Juniper Rag at the Jean McDonough Arts Center in Worcester. Artist Scott Boilard sold three of his four exhibited paintings—two raven studies and one abstract piece—to a star of the show, learning of the sale while on vacation in Italy. Fellow artist Melinda Goodhue also sold a piece to an actor, and another artist received a commission inquiry from a cast member. The exhibition ran from October 27 to November 1, 2025, coinciding with a Halloween-themed performance and the show's filming at the same venue.

Art studios to host free workshops for under 18s at youth exhibition

The Artery Studios in Worcester will host the Worcester 100 Youth Open Call Exhibition on November 29-30, featuring work by emerging young artists from the region. Alongside the exhibition, four free creative workshops for under-18s will be offered, including graffiti sessions with Rouse Signs and street artist Mr Sce, a rave art workshop with Sounds Omazing, and a teen art social. The event is supported by The Arts Society Worcester and Worcester City Council.
