A free Family Friday reception will open the exhibition on May 29.
Georgia foster teens have created a traveling art exhibit called the See Me project, sponsored by the nonprofit Georgia Appleseed, which has collected roughly 50 paintings, poems, and sculptures since 2023. The young artists, many first-time participants, explore themes of healing, hope, family, and belonging, often signing their works anonymously. The exhibit has been displayed at the Georgia Capitol, universities, community centers, and law firms, with artists paid $250 for their contributions.
The 15th Annual High School Juried Art Show at the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, held its awards ceremony at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre, drawing students, families, teachers, and community leaders. The 47th Westman Juried Art Show took place at the Killarney United Church's CE Center in Manitoba, showcasing 120 pieces of flat art by 87 local artists from 23 communities. Hosted by the Arts West Council and the Killarney-Turtle Mountain Arts Council, the event featured awards including Best in Show (Jacqui Beckett), People's Choice (Glenda Cairns Poirier), and a Theme Award (Shannon Desjardins), with jurors Leona Brown and Lucie Lederhendler providing written feedback on every entry. The 33rd Annual Creative Youth Art League exhibition opened at the LaGrange Art Museum on April 26, 2026, with award winners announced for student-created artworks. The Lawrence Art Center's Hang12 program, a group of high school students who curate art shows and events, unveiled 32 new pieces of art in the New Hampshire Street parking garage in Lawrence, Kansas. The artworks, designed by Lawrence High School juniors Wren Jay and Rilo Scholz, celebrate native Kansas plants and animals and were collectively painted and assembled by Hang12 members. A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from multidisciplinary artist Mona Cliff, who completed a mural in the same garage in 2025, and a tour of the new works.
The Taylor County Arts Council has announced the winners of its 28th Annual Thea Porter Memorial Day Juried Art Exhibit, now on display at Gallery 62 West in Grafton, West Virginia, through June 2. Top honors in the adult division went to Kristen Colebank for her watercolor "First Light," with Charlie Cowger and others also receiving awards; in the youth division, Katherine DeMos took first place for "Rad Grandad."
