Weekend of Art, Artists and Open Studios in Riebeek Valley

Solo Studios returns to the Riebeek Valley from October 24 to 26, 2025, featuring over 60 artists opening their studios in Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West. The weekend includes curated exhibitions such as LANDscape[s] at Die Kunshuis, showcasing works from Modern Art Projects South Africa (MAPSA), and a display of Ardmore Ceramics at EcoPlace, a home built from recycled materials. Other highlights include Red Hot, Pink Spot, a group show of 13 female artists from Kommetjie, and FEAST, a Porterville artist exhibition. Talks on art collecting and live music complement the open studios.

Open Studios event in Fish Hoek and Clovelly: A celebration of local art

The inaugural Open Studios Fish Hoek and Clovelly (OSFHC) launched on October 3, showcasing the artwork of 19 local artists across 15 studios in the South African coastal communities of Fish Hoek and Clovelly over the weekend. A large-scale art installation was placed in the front windows of the 97-year-old family-run department store AP Jones to promote the event. Participating artists include Susan Didcott, Marlise Keith, Sue Kaplan, Yda Walt, Mandy Johnston, and organizer Lauren Shantall, with works ranging from sculpture and paint pieces to textile art and live material burns.

A parking structure transforms to public art gallery

A parking structure at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach is being transformed into a walkable public art gallery featuring murals by eleven artists. The project, organized by City of Hope Orange County and Lido Marina Village, centers on the theme “Hope is a Rising Tide.” Murals include depictions of City of Hope cancer patients and themes of science and innovation. The final mural, “Hope on the Horizon” by artist RFX1, measures 64 by 8 feet and is currently being completed. The space is free and open to the public.
