‘The Little Flowers Are Me, Unbloomed:’ Georgia Foster Teens Find Their Voices Through Art Exhibit

Georgia foster teens have created a traveling art exhibit called the See Me project, sponsored by the nonprofit Georgia Appleseed, which has collected roughly 50 paintings, poems, and sculptures since 2023. The young artists, many first-time participants, explore themes of healing, hope, family, and belonging, often signing their works anonymously. The exhibit has been displayed at the Georgia Capitol, universities, community centers, and law firms, with artists paid $250 for their contributions.

Beat the rush: Sign up for Greeley Park Art Show before early deadline

The 73rd annual Greeley Park Art Show, hosted by the Nashua Area Artists Association, will take place August 29-30, 2026, at Greeley Park in Nashua, New Hampshire. The two-day outdoor juried show is open to artists 18 and older working in 2D and 3D media, with an early registration deadline of May 30. New features this year include options for one- or two-day participation, tent sharing, tent rentals, senior discounts, and expanded entertainment. Awards will be given in categories including 3D, acrylic, drawing, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, watercolor, digital art, Best in Show, and Viewer’s Choice. Blue Fern Artists Collective Gallery will host grand opening in Peterborough on Sept. 5

Blue Fern Artists Collective Gallery will hold its grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 40B Main St. in Peterborough, N.H., in a space formerly occupied by Grey Horse Candles. The gallery, founded by Deborah Caplan and a group of local artists, had a soft opening during the Aug. 8 Night Market. It features 18 artists working in diverse media including paintings, drawings, collage, multimedia, ceramics, felting, jewelry, leather work, and photography. The collective is collaboratively owned and run, with each artist paying a nonrefundable buy-in and monthly dues, and working two shifts per month. Artists receive 82% of sales profits, far above the typical 40-50% gallery commission. The gallery is also partnering with MAXT Makerspace to showcase makers’ work and plans to host classes, art history lectures, poetry readings, and evening events in the adjacent alley.
