Yukako Yamashita will step down as director of Art Collaboration Kyoto (ACK) after leading the fair since 2022. The four-day event, which concluded at the Kyoto International Conference Center, featured 72 galleries from 19 countries and regions, with 29 Japan-based galleries hosting 30 international galleries in shared booths—its largest edition yet. Highlights included Annely Juda Fine Art's sale of three David Hockney works and Kurimanzutto selling 75 percent of its solo booth with artist WangShui. The fair also launched the Bangkok Collaborate Kyoto Fellowship, awarding WangShui and Takuro Tamayama a residency in Bangkok. ACK will return November 6–9, 2025.

An exhibition titled “Window Wonderland 2025,” mounted by the Bomb Factory Art Foundation in London, was shut down early after three consecutive nights of vandal attacks at its Marylebone and Holborn locations. Vandals used hammers and an ice axe to smash windows, defaced displays with stickers of the Union Jack and St. George’s cross, and scrawled “Free U.K.” in lipstick, causing an estimated £15,000 ($20,000) in damage. The show, which explored themes of anti-war activism, immigration, and queer and trans identity, closed on January 9, 2025, instead of its scheduled January 18 closing date. Police are investigating the attacks, which organizers say were intended to silence the exhibition’s message of inclusivity.

adam eve nude restored fitzwilliam

An illuminated manuscript from 1505, *The Primer of Claude of France*, has had its original nude depictions of Adam and Eve digitally restored after a former owner crudely painted clothing over them. The restoration was achieved using an algorithm developed by Cambridge University's Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, which stripped away the overpaint without damaging the original page. The manuscript is currently on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England, as part of the exhibition “Colour: The Art and Science of Illuminated Manuscripts.”

Tate has appointed Daisy Desrosiers as its Britton Family Curator at Large, North America, based in the US, focusing on developing North American art in Tate’s collection through research and acquisitions. Meanwhile, Lycia Lobo, chief operating officer at the Design Museum, has been confirmed as chair of the board of trustees of Chiswick House & Gardens Trust. Several new exhibitions are opening across UK museums, including 'Colour' at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery in Exeter, 'Aleksandra Kasuba: Shelters for the Senses' at Tate St Ives, 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, and 'Helios' by Luke Jerram at National Museum Cardiff. Additionally, the Museum of Archaeology at Palace Green Library has received a £217,844 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for gallery redevelopment.

Joy Sarkar inaugurates solo art show by Anupama Arora Mallik

Music composer Joy Sarkar inaugurated 'Echoes in Colours', a solo art exhibition by emerging artist Anupama Arora Mallik, at a prominent art gallery in Kolkata. The event was attended by notable figures including Ayon Ghosh, Badal Pal, and Prosanta Kumar Basu, who praised the artist's evocative work. Anupama, a self-taught artist and former consultant pathologist of two decades, transitioned from medicine to pursue painting, blending representational and abstract styles inspired by nature and Impressionism. Her signature palette knife technique creates richly textured layers on canvas, tile, wood, and glass. The exhibition was curated by Madhuchanda Sen.
