Dean McCrillis, an emerging painter from Rumford, Maine, is the subject of a solo exhibition titled "Dog Years" at Cove Street Arts in Portland, running through January 17. The show features oil paintings that depict distinctly Maine activities—hunting, fishing, camping—while employing layered, translucent brushstrokes to evoke the ephemerality of time and experience.
