Gallery Silver Scapes will present 'Silent Stories', a solo exhibition by Sri Lankan artist Shanaka Kulathunga, at the CCA Building, Bikaner House in New Delhi from May 21 to 28, 2026. The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi is hosting "Cuộc Chơi Với Lá (A Game with Leaves)," an exhibition showcasing over six decades of work by self-taught Vietnamese artist Tạ Hải. The show features dozens of artworks selected from more than 500 pieces he has created entirely from natural materials, primarily fallen leaves, since his first work in 1965. Hải, who works outside formal artistic traditions, transforms leaves into landscapes depicting rivers, rooftops, and village paths, driven by a philosophy that sees fallen leaves as enduring symbols of life rather than discarded remnants.
Cassandra Dias, a Southern California-based artist, creates lush embroideries of natural landscapes using thread painting, a technique that mimics the gestural strokes of a paintbrush. Since taking up needle and thread in 2020, she has developed an impressionistic style that captures cliffsides, vineyards, and mountains in richly textured scenes. Her forthcoming book, "Richly Stitched Landscape Embroidery: Mastering Thread Painted Scenes," is set for release in May and is available for pre-order through the Colossal Shop.
David Hockney presents "The Moon Room," a series of fifteen iPad drawings of full moons created during the 2020 lockdown, at Galerie Lelong in Paris until May 7, 2026. The exhibition, free and open to the public, features nocturnal landscapes Hockney painted from his farm in Normandy, inspired by Maupassant's "Clair de lune" and his own nightly observations. The works were first shown at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen in 2024 and later at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
Telfair Museums in Savannah, Georgia, has opened a new exhibition titled "Off the Coast of Paradise: Artists and Ossabaw Island, 1961–Now," exploring the profound impact of the undeveloped barrier island on artists. The show focuses on the Ossabaw Island Project and Genesis, two multidisciplinary residency programs that operated from 1961 to 1982, and features work by 32 artists who were inspired or transformed by their time on the island. The exhibition runs through September 6, 2026, at The Jepson Center for the Arts.
