A Statista chart published in April 2025 shows the geographical distribution of post-war and contemporary art auction revenue worldwide in 2024. The United States dominated with 48% of the combined post-war and contemporary market, followed by China (17%), the United Kingdom (15%), France (6%), Germany (2%), and other countries (11%). When broken down, the U.S. held 50% of post-war and 45% of contemporary revenue, while China captured 13% of post-war and 25% of contemporary revenue, reflecting its stronger position in the contemporary segment.
The annual resident artist exhibition, Collective Matter, will open at Studio 18 Art Complex in Pembroke Pines on November 14, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibition features 17 resident artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, installation, and mixed media, and will run through February 6, 2026. During the opening reception, guests can explore open studios, meet the artists, and enjoy live entertainment and complimentary refreshments. Admission is free and open to the public.
Ridgeline High School in Millville, Utah, is presenting its seventh annual student art exhibition, "A Little Glimpse," at the Lyndsley Wilkerson Gallery in the Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence on the Utah State University campus. The show, running from November 7, 2025, through January 8, 2026, features advanced student works in ceramics, 2-D media such as watercolor, oil paint, pencil, ink, and pastels, as well as wire sculptures. Students participate in the entire process from creation to installation, with an opening reception for families and the community.
A new independent art center called Tend Space has opened in Chauncey, Ohio, in the historic former Chauncey Library building. Run by Len Loomis, who also co-runs galleries and teaches at Ohio University's School of Art and Design, the space held its inaugural exhibition on September 5, 2025, featuring local artists from Athens County. The show included works in paper, sculpture, animation, and other media by artists such as Aneek Mustafa Anwar, Gene Deubler, Lilah Mae Gagne, Erin McKenna, Caroline Murphy, and Moss Nash. Murphy displayed a digitally hand-drawn animation and postcards supporting Palestinian relief. Loomis plans monthly events, including a community salon on October 3, and has opened calls for exhibitions through May 2026.
The Scarab Club, a Midtown Detroit arts club and gallery, is presenting a new exhibition titled "Paper, Place, Power: The Global Language of Posters," showcasing poster art that spans music, movies, social justice, and politics. Norman Teague is the subject of a documentary film produced by Firelight Media in association with The WNET Group for the PBS series 'American Masters.' The film, directed by Adewole A. Abioye and produced by Aderemi Abioye, explores Teague's life and creative journey as a visual artist. The program is part of the 'In the Making' series and is funded by multiple foundations including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Rosalind P. Walter Foundation.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau has announced the six winning curatorial proposals selected for the 'Local Curatorial Project' of Art Macao 2025, the Macao International Art Biennale. Chosen from 34 submissions by a panel of international and local experts, the projects include 'Genetic Duration' by Guilherme Ung Vai Meng, 'After Oriental Garden' by Cheong Weng Lam, 'The Sea of Languages: Macao Language Research Programme' by He Yanjun and Zhang Ke, 'A Speakable Position for Women' by Cheong Cheng Wa and Wang Jing, 'Beneath the Wetware Peninsula' by Daisy Di Wang and Wong Mei Teng, and 'Jacone’s Tower' by Feng Yan and Ng Sio Ieng. These proposals will be exhibited during Art Macao 2025 and are shortlisted for the chance to represent Macau at the 61st Venice Biennale Collateral Event.
A new exhibition called 'The Mini Art Show' opens this Friday, June 27, at the vintage shop At My House in Philadelphia's Queen Village. The show features artwork no larger than three inches, including pocket-sized paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and tiny textiles from 21 local artists. Curated by local artist Fabiola Lara, known for her art vending machines, the exhibition runs through late July. The opening night includes specialty cocktails, and the store will provide magnifying glasses for visitors to examine the tiny works closely.
Local artist Keni Davis, known as Keni Arts, will present his exhibition "Beauty for Ashes" at the Altadena Main Library throughout May 2025. The show documents the aftermath of January's Eaton Fire, which destroyed over 9,000 homes and businesses in Altadena, including Davis's own home, studio, and most of his paintings. Through his watercolor works, Davis captures the destruction, renewal, and emerging hope in the community he has called home since 1977.

Kôji Fukada's film "Nagi Notes" premieres in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, following Yoriko (Takako Matsu), a sculptor and farmer living a quiet, self-sufficient life in the rural Japanese town of Nagi. Her routine is disrupted when her old friend Yuri (Shizuka Ishibashi), an architect, arrives to model for a sculpture, stirring buried emotions and past conflicts. The film explores the slow, delicate process of creating art and the psychological tensions between the two women, set against the backdrop of Nagi's idyllic but symbolically flat landscape.
Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang has opened an exhibition titled "The Face of Desire Is Loss" at the new Bvlgari Pavilion in Venice. The show features her fluid, changeable works that explore themes of desire, loss, absence, and impermanence, with the artist describing the experience as a charged, chaotic, yet focused pursuit of something elusive.

Creative Pinellas has unveiled Sightline, a new art gallery inside St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport (PIE), featuring a debut exhibition titled "Made in the Shade." Inspiration Space in Bangkok presents "Ganesha," a dual-artist exhibition running from 9 May to 5 July 2026, curated by Kullaya Kassakul. The show features paintings by Piya Charoenmuang, who created thousands of Ganesha works daily during the COVID-19 lockdown (2021–2024), exploring faith, success, and imperfection through mixed media and texture. On 22 April, Art Corner by Clark and Leo opened its ninth exhibition, 'Art Is Therapy', featuring works by Hungarian artist Judit Horváth Lóczi at the Hotel Clark Budapest and Leo Bistro. The show includes paintings and small-scale sculptures that explore personal experience, emotional memory, and female identity through geometric structures and vivid colors. Stantonbury School in Milton Keynes is hosting an art exhibition at Stantonbury Theatre Gallery to showcase the work of its Year 11 students in Art, Photography, and 3D Design. A new open call for artists and architects under 35 has been launched in Rome, inviting proposals for a public artwork in dialogue with the iconic Gazometro (gasometer) in the Ostiense district. The initiative is promoted by Spazio Taverna in collaboration with Eni and ROAD – Rome Advanced District, and was announced on May 21 during the event "ON THE ROAD – Distretti di Innovazione." Participants are asked to design a monument, pavilion, or installation that engages with the former industrial complex, now a creative hub hosting the cultural program Arte al Gazometro since 2024. ART OSAKA 2026 will take place from 28 May to 1 June with an expanded two-venue format, featuring over 60 galleries from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and beyond. The fair is split between the Galleries Section at Grand Green Osaka in the Umekita district and the Expanded Section at Creative Center Osaka, a former shipyard. The City of St. Catharines has opened the call for artists to submit work for its 17th Annual Juried Art Exhibition, titled "Current." Emerging, student, and established artists living in the Niagara Region are invited to explore the theme of currents—literal waterways like the Welland Canal and Niagara River, as well as cultural, social, and technological forces. Submissions in all mediums created within the past three years are eligible, with a deadline of June 29, 2026. The Church History Museum of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, is presenting an exhibition of works selected from the 13th International Art Competition, running from April 24, 2025, to January 3, 2026. The exhibition features 150 artworks chosen from hundreds of submissions by five jurors, with artists from 26 countries including Angola, Argentina, Australia, and Vietnam. The theme, “Lift Up the Hands Which Hang Down,” is drawn from Doctrine and Covenants 81:5, and the show includes a variety of media such as sculpture, ceramic, chitenge, and tapa. Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) have launched an open call for their fully funded 2027 Museum Fellowship Programme. The year-long initiative offers emerging African art professionals a combination of practical museum training and postgraduate academic study, aiming to develop the next generation of curators, researchers, and arts professionals on the continent.
From April 30 to May 4, 2026, the "Long March Eve·Fuzhou Beacon" art sketching and creation event was held in Fuzhou to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March. Organized by the Jiangxi Artists Association and the Fuzhou Municipal Propaganda Department under the guidance of the China Artists Association, 15 artists including China Artists Association Chairman Fan Di'an and Secretary-General Wang Ping visited revolutionary heritage sites such as the Red Ninth Army Luojiapu Command Post, the Dengxian Bridge Victory Site in Le'an County, and the Long March National Cultural Park (Guangchang Section). They also explored the intangible cultural heritage Nuo Dance in Shiyou Village, Nanfeng County, to absorb local cultural roots for their creations.
Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery is hosting a free street art exhibition celebrating the city's creative scene, featuring artist-led talks and workshops supported by the Arts Council. The exhibition, which runs until 23 May, includes creative workshops for young people during the Easter holidays and was developed in collaboration with local street artist Nathan Murdoch, with whom the museum first discussed a solo exhibition in 2020.
Open Art Lund has officially launched its inaugural month-long joint exhibition, a collaborative initiative between three local galleries: Gallery Cozmo, Studio Bantorget, and Kliger Gallery. The Fine 383/CS 383 Computational Digital Art Studio, a cross-listed course between the Fine Arts Department and the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, held an exhibition showcasing final projects by students Yujin Bae, Laith Bahodi, Niko Forsyth, Aastha Parmar, Vedaant Varshney, Jeannie Zhang, and Wilbur Zhang.
