The five ambassadors—Julie Cardenas, Matt Casey (More Mas Marami), Jessica Gutierrez, Miguel Ozuna, and Steven Rubalcaba—have each developed community-engaged creative works over the past year, including a shared film camera photography project, zine-making workshops, a community audio archive, a collaborative collage using repurposed materials, and art workshops for mothers and children.

London's Postal Museum launches collaboration with victims of Post Office Horizon scandal

The Postal Museum in London has launched a collaborative project with victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal, working with a group of current and former sub-postmasters to create a lasting legacy documenting the impact of the faulty Horizon IT system. Over 900 sub-postmasters were prosecuted between 1999 and 2015 based on incorrect data from the software, leading to wrongful convictions, imprisonment, and financial ruin. The museum is partnering with the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry, led by high court judge Wyn Williams, and has held initial meetings with twelve sub-postmasters to discuss how to mark the scandal in history.

‘Abstract Angularity’ Is on Exhibit at the Avram Gallery This Fall

The Avram Gallery at Stony Brook Southampton is hosting 'Abstract Angularity: The Artistry of Vincent Quatroche Sr.,' an exhibition showcasing the works of the late East End artist whose paintings blend musical influence with cubist and abstract expressionist styles. The show draws from the collection of the Jazz Loft Archives and the personal collection of Jazz Loft founder Tom Manuel, featuring over 50 pieces acquired directly from the artist's studio. The Wiregrass Museum of Art and Visit Dothan have partnered to launch a new rotating art exhibition series in downtown Dothan, Alabama. The series will feature quarterly exhibitions of Wiregrass-area artists at the Visit Dothan office, starting with Hannah Edgman's show "Beauty Beyond the Orange," which uses clay, acrylic, and watercolor to reinterpret local landscapes. The National Center for Art Research (NCAR) and Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions (AWARE) have announced the first recipients of their joint research fellowship dedicated to women artists in Japan. Sculptor and critic Nodoka Odawara and Tokyo Photographic Art Museum curator Yuri Yamada were selected from 19 applicants to conduct specialized research on marginalized female figures in Japanese art history. Odawara will focus on pioneering female sculptors Kamono Ota and Toko Kuhara, while Yamada will investigate early female photographers from the Meiji to early Showa eras, including Ryu Shima and Yoshino Hanawa.
