Beverly Buchanan, who lived in Athens, Georgia for over 20 years, often paid for everyday needs with her artworks, trading them with her doctor and local community members. A new exhibition titled "Beverly's Athens" at the University of Georgia's Athenaeum showcases works borrowed from local collections, including pieces from her doctor's personal collection and sculptures from her own backyard. The show features her flower drawings, which her dealer Betty Parsons once rejected, as well as her "ruins" sculptures and archival footage of her garden. The Rijksmuseum, the national museum of the Netherlands in Amsterdam, has announced a partnership with the municipality of Eindhoven to build a satellite branch in the city. Ralph Lemon has been awarded the 2025 ARTnews Lifetime Achievement Award for his multidisciplinary practice spanning dance, drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, and writing. The Institute of Contemporary Art Miami is opening "Richard Hunt: Pressure," the first institutional survey of the late sculptor since his death in 2023 at age 88. Museo Jumex in Mexico City will host "Fútbol y Arte. Esa misma emoción" (Football & Art. A Shared Emotion), an exhibition timed to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A new experimental space called Padimai Art & Tech Studio will open in November 2025 at Tanjong Pagar Distripark in Singapore. The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., is proceeding with plans to sell major works by Georgia O’Keeffe, Arthur Dove, and Georges Seurat at Sotheby’s next week, despite sharp backlash from former curators, members of the Phillips family, and a faction of the museum’s non-governing members body. Tania Willard, a mixed Secwépemc and settler artist from Neskonlith, British Columbia, has won the 2025 Sobey Art Award, receiving CAD$100,000 ($71,000). The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, Connecticut, has appointed Allison Blais as its new president and CEO, effective January 2026. A painting of Saint Francis of Assisi, stolen from the Church of San Francisco de Asis in Teotihuacán, Mexico, in 2001, has been recovered and returned to the church. Brandon Stanton, the photographer behind Humans of New York, has transformed Grand Central Terminal and its subway station into a massive public art installation titled "Dear New York."
