The newly renovated Porter Art Warehouse in Fayetteville, Arkansas, will host its first signature exhibition, "Harold Keller: Portals," from January 15 to March 8, 2025. The show features works by Harold Keller, an artist and educator whose career spanned over seven decades, curated by Matthew Bailey from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Collection. The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, ceramics, and artist books drawn from the largest repository of Keller's work, housed at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, where he taught in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Alexander Gallery, named for philanthropists Bob and Becky Alexander, opened in October 2024 after a $1 million exterior restoration by the city and a $950,000 interior renovation by Walton Arts Center.
The Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, is preparing to break ground on a major renovation and expansion of its permanent collection facility, working with architecture firms Olson Kundig and JLG. The project will create an open storage concept design, adding a fourth gallery and allowing public access to the museum's basement collection storage, where over 6,000 artworks are housed. This follows the museum's history of adaptive reuse, having transformed a 1904 International Harvester warehouse into its main building in 1997 and adding the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity in 2012.
The historic Porter Produce warehouse in Fayetteville, Arkansas, built in 1906, has been transformed into a public art gallery called the Alexander Gallery at the Porter Art Warehouse. The gallery is named for Bob and Becky Alexander, whose foundation supported the project.
Kickernick Gallery in Minneapolis is launching a landmark exhibition titled "LEGACY: The Women of WARM Gallery" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota. A new art gallery called Future Rebel Art Gallery is set to open on Canal Street in Stourbridge, UK, founded by local artist Cal. Housed beneath the vintage store Grandad’s Attic opposite the Bonded Warehouse, the space aims to display contemporary and thought-provoking works from artists aged 17 to 70, including sculptures, mixed media, audio-visual art, and interactive pieces. A long-vacant warehouse on Stathem Avenue in Westwood, Ohio, is being converted into the Apropos Art Society, a visual arts center. Dib Bangkok, a major new contemporary art museum, has opened in Thailand's capital. Conceived by the late Thai businessman and art collector Petch Osathanugrah and realized by his son Purat 'Chang' Osathanugrah, the museum is housed in a converted 1980s warehouse redesigned by LA-based Thai architect Kulupat Yansantrast of WHY Architecture. It features 7,000 square meters of gallery space across 11 galleries, a central courtyard, an outdoor sculpture garden, and a penthouse. Ryan’s work explores queer identity, nostalgia, and the uncanny through mixed-media tinkering; Nguyen crochets objects from memory to process homesickness; and Requena Bustillo creates a puppet theater addressing Venezuelan history, displacement, and immigration.
