Over a Hundred Thousand Images Later: Dan Kane, a Retrospective

The South Dakota Art Museum will present "Over a Hundred Thousand Images Later: Dan Kane, a Retrospective" from June 28 to September 28, 2025. The exhibition showcases the career of Dan Kane, a South Dakota-born photographer who has lived in Berlin for decades, featuring his analog black-and-white photographs that explore the male nude and South Dakota landscapes. Detroit's Cass Cafe to reopen this month for art exhibition

Detroit's Cass Cafe, a longtime community hub and restaurant that closed three years ago, will reopen this month to host a retrospective art exhibition. The show, titled "Retrospective: A Life in Art," features works by Detroit artists Jim and Lucille Nawara and is organized in partnership with the neighboring Detroit Contemporary. Interact Center Opens New Gallery Space

Interact Center, a nonprofit arts organization supporting artists with disabilities, has opened a new gallery space in St. Paul, Minnesota. The inaugural exhibition features a solo show and career retrospective for artist Andy Seymour, who has been with Interact since 2002 and whose "Summer" series of colorful, circle-filled works is on display. Two additional shows run concurrently: a portrait-themed exhibit and a multimedia collection titled "Collect Our Dream Branches Into a Pile," curated by advocates. The 4,000-square-foot gallery, located on Minnehaha Avenue, is more than double the size of Interact's former space and includes three distinct exhibition areas, accessible amenities, and free parking.

David Lynch retrospective Up in Flames to open at Prague’s DOX art gallery in June

A major retrospective of David Lynch's artwork, titled 'Up in Flames', will open at Prague's DOX Centre for Contemporary Art on June 19, 2025. The exhibition spans Lynch's visual work from the late 1960s to the present, including drawings, lithographs, photographs, and experimental films. Lynch was directly involved in planning the show in 2024, meeting with curator Otto M. Urban to approve the concept and selection of works before his sudden death on January 16, 2025. His estate worked with DOX to reschedule the opening and ensure the exhibition meets his standards.

Artium museum in Vitoria, Spain, has opened a retrospective exhibition titled "Juana Cima: Una mirada disidente" dedicated to Cuban-born artist Juana Fernández Cima (b. 1951). The show traces her career from the late 1970s through the 1990s, highlighting her pioneering work on identity, gender, and ecology, which was progressively marginalized from the dominant artistic narrative. The exhibition is organized around five conceptual territories—Bilbao, mythical ecofeminist landscapes, insular identity, spirituality via India and Buddhism, and mountain retreat—and runs until August 30, 2026.

The Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College is presenting 'Ofelia Esparza: A Retrospective' until May 2026. This first major museum survey for the Chicana artist and altarista features 85 works, including recreations of her iconic altars and examples of her drawing, painting, and printmaking, tracing her artistic evolution from 1945 to the present.
