On May 7, the National Art Museum of Belarus opened the exhibition "Harmony of the World of Niehliubka Weavers," showcasing traditional weaving from the village of Niehliubka in the Vetka District. The display features about 50 textile works from the museum's collection, along with tools, rare costume elements, and photographs provided by the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life and the Vetka Museum of Old Believer and Belarusian Traditions named after Shklyarau. An exhibition of Kazakh art has opened in Baku, organized by the culture ministries of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Featuring 30 paintings from the Abylkhan Kasteyev National Museum of Art, the show includes works by masters such as Abylkhan Kasteyev, Moldakhmet Kenbayev, and Kanafiya Telzhanov, as well as contemporary artists exploring tradition, spirituality, and national identity. Sruli Recht's exhibition "LAIR" has opened at the SWCAC museum in Shenzhen, featuring 68 sculptures across 11 installations that took 15 years to create. The works employ unconventional materials such as lava casting, lightning-formed glass, and bee-skin fur, presented as ceremonial artifacts. The immersive experience includes custom musical architecture by Valgeir Sigurðsson, whose score changes with each room, and 14 fragrances developed by perfumer Alex Lee and IFF, made from strange ingredients to set the mood. The Hungarian Academy of Arts (MMA) and the Hall of Art (Műcsarnok) have opened an outdoor panel exhibition in front of the Műcsarnok building on Bajza Street to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the institution's opening. Designed by Albert Schickedanz, the building was completed in 1896 for the Millennium alongside Heroes' Square and the Museum of Fine Arts. Inspiration Space in Bangkok presents "Ganesha," a dual-artist exhibition running from 9 May to 5 July 2026, curated by Kullaya Kassakul. The show features paintings by Piya Charoenmuang, who created thousands of Ganesha works daily during the COVID-19 lockdown (2021–2024), exploring faith, success, and imperfection through mixed media and texture. It also includes a ceramic Ganesha sculpture by Yonkwan Thanyaset (Paint), fired at high temperatures and repaired with Kintsugi, highlighting cracks as beauty. Several Carson High School art students earned top honors at the Nevada Artists Association Student Art Show. Senior Serenity Rodriguez placed first in the 3D category for her piece “Buried in Flowers,” while freshman Abbey Ortega earned third place for “Comic Book Art” and an honorable mention for “Cat Caught Fish.” Other students received honorable mentions across 2D and 3D categories. Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, the Belgian design studio founded by Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh, has created "CLAUSURA," a life-size steel sculpture tracing the footprint of the vanished 16th-century Gothic church at Herkenrode Abbey in Hasselt, Belgium. The ethereal framework of slender steel rods rises from the original site, offering a transparent, abstract reconstruction that evokes the abbey's lost architecture through suggestion rather than literal rebuilding. The first phase opens to the public on June 18 as part of a broader restoration led by Herita.
