MEMORY AND PUBLIC SPACE THE 18 ARTISTS OF SONSBEEK 2026

Sonsbeek 2026 has announced the 18 artists and collectives who will participate in its thirteenth edition, scheduled from July 2 to October 11, 2026, in Arnhem, Netherlands. The event, curated by Amira Gad and Christina Li with assistant curator Berber Meindertsma, will feature 12 new commissions across Park Sonsbeek and various city locations, presenting site-specific installations, sculptures, and performances.

ANTiPODE gallery holds space for any artists’ work to thrive

Two best friends, Amir Amini and Saina Heshmati, founded ANTiPODE gallery in Seattle in September 2025. The gallery prioritizes immigrant and established artists, with 70% of exhibitions dedicated to immigrant artists and 30% to local artists, aiming to act as a cultural bridge between Seattle and cities like Tehran. The founders previously curated a group exhibition called "Postcard from Tehran" at the RailSpur building, which inspired the gallery's mission. ANTiPODE also hosts events such as movie nights and experimental music and dance performances to connect with the local community.

Solo art exhibition, Rudy Ramirez: A retrospective, 1969-present

The San Bernardino County Museum (SBCM) presents "Rudy C. Ramirez: A Retrospective, 1969–The Present," the first comprehensive survey of local Latino artist Rudy C. Ramirez, a Vietnam veteran. Running from January 17 to April 12, 2026, the exhibition features over 70 works spanning more than 50 years, showcasing his diverse styles and media, including influences from his time as a sign painter for the U.S. Air Force and his leadership in the Inland Empire Latino Art Association. The show was curated with his daughter Annette Ramirez, granddaughter Carina Lizarde, and museum educator Erica Watkins.
