Axel Vervoordt Gallery in Antwerp is presenting the first Belgian solo exhibition of Cambodian artist Sopheap Pich. The Merz Foundation in Turin is hosting the exhibition 'Gaza, il futuro ha un cuore antico. Materie e memorie del Mediterraneo' (Gaza, the future has an ancient heart. Matters and memories of the Mediterranean). The show, created in collaboration with the Egyptian Museum and the MAH – Musée d’art et d’histoire in Geneva, juxtaposes ancient archaeological artifacts from Gaza with contemporary artworks. It aims to present Gaza's history as a Mediterranean crossroads, moving beyond its current wartime representation. The exhibition features artifacts from a collection of about 500 pieces, temporarily held in Geneva, alongside works by contemporary artists like Samaa Emad, Mirna Bamieh, and Wael Shawky.
The BANK Art Museum Moree (BAMM) is launching a suite of six new exhibitions on April 24, featuring works by artists Jo Norton, Penny Evans, Joan Ross, Melissa Spratt, Aaron Butt, and Pip Stalley. The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) is concluding "Multiple Offerings," the most comprehensive retrospective of Theresa Hak Kyung Cha’s work in 25 years. The exhibition traces the multidisciplinary career of the Korean American artist, who explored themes of exile, diaspora, and the fluidity of language through poetry, film, and performance before her tragic death in 1982. Curated by Victoria Sung, the show features over 100 works paired with pieces by mentors and contemporary artists influenced by her legacy.
