April Arts Calendar 2026

The Seattle region is hosting a diverse array of visual arts exhibitions throughout April and May 2026, with a strong emphasis on cultural identity and heritage. Highlights include Akash Pamarthy’s solo photography show "Sikh Ohio" at the M. Rosetta Hunter Art Gallery, Miya Sukune’s historical installation "TADAIMA: I’m Home" at MOHAI, and a permanent mural installation by Erin Shigaki at Bellevue College. These shows span various media, from traditional Korean moon jar-inspired ceramics by Kelly Haejung Paik to experimental works made of rice and lentils by Yaminee Patel.

Her practice, which began after a corporate career, focuses on observation of mundane moments—people eating, drinking coffee, riding transit, and animals in urban settings. Her upcoming solo exhibition, "E.L.U," will be on view at Ryan James Fine Arts from May 1–31, 2025, with a Gallery Night on May 22. Jänese has shown work regionally at venues including Happy Time Studio Gallery, Oxbow Montlake, and the Seattle Art Fair, and has completed public art projects in Bellevue, Kent, Kirkland, and Seattle.

‘Melodies of the Diaspora’ art exhibition celebrates Black History Month | City of Bellevue

The City of Bellevue, in partnership with MG2, Onyx Fine Arts Collective, and Elevate, presents 'Melodies of the Diaspora: Celebrating 100 Years of Black History Month,' an exhibition featuring works by Pacific Northwest Black artists. The show runs throughout February at Bellevue Arts Museum and Bellevue City Hall, with an opening reception on Feb. 1. Curated by Jay Taylor, Fancy Vargas, and Jerry Lee, the exhibit includes paintings, photography, sculptures, textiles, and fashion, offering a chronological journey of Black art.

Schloss Bellevue wird temporär Ausstellungshaus

Schloss Bellevue, the official residence of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, will be transformed into a temporary pop-up gallery for two weeks from June 13 to 28, before undergoing a major renovation expected to last around eight years. The exhibition, organized in cooperation with the Akademie der Künste, will feature works by artists including Katharina Grosse, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Monica Bonvicini, taking advantage of the emptied rooms ahead of the president's move-out before the summer break. Free timed-entry tickets will be available from May 18 via the Akademie's website.
