Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor discusses her evolution as an art collector, shaped by the women in her family—her mother Sunita Kapoor and aunt Kavita Singh, a Mumbai-based interior designer and art curator. Kapoor began collecting instinctively, drawn to South Asian modernists like Amrita Sher-Gil and Manjit Bawa, but has recently shifted toward contemporary works and underrepresented artists, especially women and those outside major art hubs. She sources art from galleries such as Jhaveri Contemporary, Chemould Prescott, and Nature Morte, as well as auction houses including Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Saffronart. Multifaceted artist Poonam Arora has launched a new art studio called 'Studio Art Life' in Chandigarh's NAC, Manimajra market. The space debuted with a multi-artist exhibition featuring works by fourteen artists, including paintings in watercolor, oil, and acrylic, as well as sculptures and decoupage pieces. The exhibition runs through November 2, 2025.
A new gallery dedicated to the memory of child prodigy Edmund Thomas Clint, who created over 25,000 paintings before his death at age seven, will soon open in Kochi, India. Located in a 3,500-square-foot space on the first floor of the Gandhinagar Shopping Complex, the Clint Art Gallery will initially display 100 of Clint's best works, selected by artist Boney Thomas. The gallery features modern acoustic facilities, virtual and augmented reality experiences, space for art camps and classes, and a library. Construction took six months and cost ₹58 lakh, with plans to open before the Onam festival.
Multifaceted artist Poonam Arora has established a new art studio called 'Studio Art Life' in NAC, Manimajra, Chandigarh, to support both emerging and established artists. The studio opened with a multi-artist exhibition featuring 14 artists, 22 paintings, three sculptures, and a collection of decoupage artworks, running from October 30 to November 2, 2025. Arora, who previously struggled to find exhibition spaces as a solo artist, aims to provide a collaborative platform for artists to create, exhibit, and connect.
