On Paranoid Time

On a frigid December evening, eleven women artists gathered in the lobby of 125 Maiden Lane in downtown Manhattan to view and discuss Langdon Graves's exhibition "Mental Model," produced by Art in Buildings. The group, called Gossip, is a long-running artist crit collective founded in 2009 by Cranbrook Academy of Art graduates including Jessica Stoller and Kelli Miller, originally named "Get Out" before being renamed by member Virginia Wagner after Silvia Federici's writings on gossip. The group now has about 20 members, including Jenna Gribbon, Erin M. Riley, and Julie Curtiss, and meets regularly in studios and galleries for critical feedback and creative exchange.

PROGETTO, a new project space for contemporary art opened in Lecce

A new contemporary art space called Progetto opened in Lecce, Italy, on June 28, 2019, with a solo exhibition titled "fortaleza" by artist ektor garcia. Founded by artist Jamie Sneider, who splits time between the United States and Puglia, the space is located in a 16th-century building in the ancient Jewish quarter of the baroque city. BASE, the cultural center in Milan's former Ansaldo industrial complex, celebrates its 10th anniversary on May 23, 2025, with a 16-hour event called FIESTAS. The program runs from noon to 5 a.m. and includes performances, workshops, concerts, installations, and shared practices by artists such as MOMBAO, Stalker Teatro, Klaus, Francesca Grilli, Nazario Graziano, Michele Rizzo, and many others. The event also launches BASE's first summer season, keeping the center open throughout the summer months.
