Artnet News has published a list of the top 10 German art collectors, coinciding with the opening of Art Cologne 2015. jr paris pont neuf christo jeanne claude 2722101

French artist JR will wrap Paris's oldest bridge, the Pont Neuf, in images of the limestone rock formations from which it was originally built in the 16th century. The project, titled "La Caverne du Pont Neuf," is scheduled for June 2026 and marks the 41st anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's iconic wrapping of the same bridge in 1985. JR's installation was delayed by a year due to logistical and technical complications, echoing the famously tardy nature of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's large-scale works. The project was offered to JR by Vladimir Yavachev, director of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, who wanted an interpretation rather than a reinstallation.

Gagosian reconstitue une œuvre oubliée de Christo

Gagosian Gallery in London has reconstructed Christo's unrealized 1968 work "Air Package on a Ceiling" for the first time. The installation, measuring 16 by 10 meters, was originally conceived for the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia but never built due to technical constraints. The maquette and drawings were rediscovered in 2018 by studio manager Lorenza Giovanelli, hidden under a base in Christo's New York studio, and the full-scale work was realized in collaboration with the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation.

Georg Baselitz: A Life in Print

The article reviews "Georg Baselitz: A Life in Print," a comprehensive survey of the German painter's printmaking at Kode in Bergen, Norway, running from October 2025 to February 2026. Featuring 244 prints from 1964 to 2024, the exhibition showcases Baselitz's mastery of traditional techniques like etching, woodcut, and linocut, revisiting motifs from his paintings such as deer, eagles, and distorted figures. The show aims to correct the perceived neglect of prints by museums, as Baselitz himself lamented after his 2021 Centre Pompidou retrospective.

Walter Pichler's exhibition "Die Bleche und ich gehen heim" (The Sheets of Metal and I Are Going Home) is being presented at Contemporary Fine Arts in Basel. The show features a significant body of the artist's work, stemming from a long-standing relationship between the gallery and Pichler that began with an invitation in 1994.
