The Dallas Museum of Art acquired six works from the 2026 Dallas Art Fair, held April 16–19 at the Fashion Industry Gallery in the Dallas Arts District. Artist Steve DiBenedetto presents a new body of work in his solo exhibition, "Spiral Architect," at Derek Eller Gallery. The show features 17 paintings ranging from large-scale canvases to intimate works, all characterized by a restless movement between abstraction and figuration. Russia's private art museums, once symbols of post-Soviet integration into Western elite culture, are now struggling to survive amid increasing state repression and the war in Ukraine. The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, founded by Roman Abramovich and Dasha Zhukova, was raided by security services in 2024 and visited by right-wing activists demanding pro-war messaging; its founding director was replaced. Other institutions have closed entirely: the Institute of Russian Realist Art shut in 2019 after its founder Aleksei Ananyev fled embezzlement charges, and Art4.ru, Russia's first private contemporary art museum, closed in 2024 after a nationalist raid. The GES-2 House of Culture, financed by gas magnate Leonid Mikhelson, lost its visionary director shortly after opening and now operates under a lawyer.

The 3rd Annual Envisioning A Just Pittsburgh Call for Art has closed its 2025 submissions as of November 2. The theme asks artists to explore how libraries, archives, and storytelling can serve as conduits for education, activism, and a more equitable Pittsburgh. Categories include writing, visual art, performance, video/interdisciplinary work, and youth arts. Juried winners will be announced in December 2025, with exhibitions and performances held at venues such as Carnegie Museums, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh, 1Hood Media, and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center in February 2026. Monetary awards range from $50 to $2,000.
The Heilongjiang Provincial Artists Association held its 2026 annual work meeting and the 7th 9th Presidium (Expanded) Meeting on April 29, 2026, via a hybrid online-offline format. CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts & Textile) in Hong Kong will present 'Threading Inwards,' an exhibition running from March 21 to June 28, 2026, featuring 14 artists from across Asia. The show explores textiles as spiritual and emotional conduits, examining how weaving, dyeing, and stitching connect inner worlds with daily life, rituals, and collective memory.
