LR Vandy’s Rope Sculptures Disentangle Histories of Colonialism and Transportation

London-based artist LR Vandy has opened her first solo museum exhibition, "Rise," at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. ‘Love Is a Sensation’ Spotlights the Boundless Creativity of L.V. Hull

The Mississippi Museum of Art is hosting "Love Is a Sensation," a major exhibition dedicated to the work of L.V. Hull, a self-taught Black artist who transformed her Kosciusko home into a vibrant, immersive art environment. The show features a diverse array of Hull’s assemblages and painted found objects, ranging from Rock’Em Sock’Em Robots to glass bottles and straw hats, many of which were preserved by the Kohler Foundation.

The exhibition helping one nail tech realise she was an artist all along

Hull-based nail tech Lucy Allman, who never considered herself an artist, was recruited by curator Lucy Brooke to participate in an art exhibition titled "Mother," organized by The Feminine Urge Collective. Allman created a series of unique nail art pieces using mixed media, including her children's hair and 3D clay, exploring themes of childhood, teenage years, and motherhood. The exhibition runs from 1-17 May 2026 at a pop-up space on Pier Street in Hull.

Sienna Art Gallery & Gifts Opens at 129 S. Gay Street

Sienna Art Gallery & Gifts has officially opened at 129 S. Gay Street in Knoxville’s downtown Arts District. Founded by watercolorist Gayla Seale, fiber artist Judi Gaston, and painter Blanche Nicoll, the space serves as both a working studio and a retail gallery. The venue debuted during a recent First Friday event, featuring original works, architectural cityscapes, handwoven garments, and guest artist rotations, including pieces by Cynthia Markert.

Art by adults with learning disabilities exhibited

Artwork created by adults with learning disabilities is now on display at Hull's Streetlife Museum in an exhibition titled 'Regeneration,' running until 5 July. The show is organized by CASE Training Services, a charity that helps people with disabilities gain new skills and engage in social activities. The exhibition features sculpture, video, photography, paintings, and portraits, along with interactive 'talking tiles' that visitors can press to learn more about the pieces. Creative arts teacher Pete Vernon and museum curator Frankie Hodson both emphasized the importance of giving these artists a public platform to share their work.
