Artists including Coco Klockner, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Tiffany Sia, Amanda Ba, Lucy Bull, and others share their personal favorites, highlighting a diverse mix of libraries, restaurants, bars, and community spaces.
The Andy Warhol Museum held its annual fundraising dinner at La Tête d’Or, chef Daniel Boulud’s steakhouse in New York’s One Madison, on Monday. Vanity Fair has commissioned and will publish an abstract nude portrait of journalist Olivia Nuzzi, titled "How to Disappear," by artist Isabelle Brourman, in its Dec. 2 Hollywood Issue. The painting, which depicts Nuzzi nude with Americana symbols swirling around her, was created after the two met during Donald Trump's criminal trial and will also be exhibited at Art Basel Miami Beach as part of Jeffery Deitch's presentation "The Great American Nude."
Artist Isabelle “Izzy” Brourman narrowly escaped serious injury while documenting protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis. While sketching the scene for her project Starring America News, a masked federal agent fired pepper balls at her at point-blank range; Brourman managed to block the projectile with her wooden drawing board, which was left with a jagged hole. The incident, captured on video by her collaborators Peter Hambrecht and Jeannette Berlin, occurred on the same day a nurse was killed by federal agents during the unrest.
Artist Isabelle Brourman, known for courtroom sketches of high-profile figures like Donald Trump and Johnny Depp, has unveiled a new painting titled "No Rest for the Wicked" (2025). The work synthesizes her observations from documenting the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in courtrooms across the country, incorporating imagery from the Everglades and the detention facility nicknamed Alligator Alcatraz in southwest Florida. The painting is featured in the exhibition "The Body is the Body," curated by Simon Brewer and Nathalie Martin at the Rice Hotel, a renovated former hotel in downtown Miami now used as an art studio and exhibition space.
