Kerr+Jones Gallery opening June 5

Kerr+Jones Gallery in East Boothbay, Maine, is celebrating the start of its fifth season with a First Friday Art reception on June 5, co-hosted by the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce. Co-owners Diana Kerr and Kathleen Jones will showcase new works from returning and new artists, including Matt Barter, Mary Barnes, Tom Glover, and Tandem Glass, in a restored 1860s barn and boatbuilder's shop.

Three new exhibitions open at BRAF

The Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) has opened three new exhibitions for summer, running through June 21. The shows include the Spring Members' Show featuring a wide range of media from regional artists, a solo exhibition of Maine landscape oil paintings by local artist Charles Nowell, and an Eco-Art exhibition curated by the Boothbay Region Climate Action Team that addresses environmental stewardship and climate resilience. An opening reception is scheduled for June 5.

'Paintings of Whimsy' opening May 2

Local artist Roz Davis is set to debut her solo exhibition, "Paintings of Whimsy," at the MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital hall gallery in Damariscotta. Running from May 2 through June 28, the show features a collection of paintings and mixed media works that transform everyday subjects—such as donuts, candies, and footwear—into playful, narrative-driven compositions.

'So Happy You Came' new paintings by Diana Young

Diana Young, a nearly 90-year-old artist who has been painting for over 80 years, presents her new exhibition "So Happy You Came" at Gold/Smith Gallery in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, from June 18 to July 21. The show features her latest works in acrylic and tempera, which emphasize motion, line, and dynamic interlocking shapes rather than realism, inspired by outdoor locations and her profound sense of place. A reception will be held on June 21.
