Dirty carrots take over Yellowknife’s Gallery on 47th Street
Yellowknife's Gallery on 47th Street has opened a new exhibition titled "Not Just the Birds and the Bees," featuring photographs of suggestively shaped vegetables harvested by local gardeners. The idea originated with gardening collective member Lindsey Cymbalisty, who approached gallery owner Ainsley Dempsey with the concept. The images, printed on canvas and paper, include creative stagings and lighting that transform ordinary produce into playful, often humorous compositions. Patrons like Olivia Williams have already purchased works, such as Jen Potten's "Scarlet Nantes," to display in their homes.
