Photo gallery: Annual Art Youth Expo opens

The Hazleton Art League opened its 15th annual Art Youth Expo at the Hayden Family Center for the Arts on May 29, 2026, featuring works by regional artists aged 13 to 30. The opening was part of a Community Art Party with music, poetry, dance, theater, street performers, food vendors, and hands-on activities at several downtown locations, organized in collaboration with the City of Hazleton and local organizations including the HIP Center, Penn State LaunchBox, Charis Academy, PTPA, the Greater Hazleton Area Concert Series, CAN DO, and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. The exhibition runs through June 21, and an open mic performance featured Ava Badamo of Sugarloaf singing "Burn" from Hamilton.

LCCC student artists receive awards during exhibition opening night

The Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) held the opening night of its 2026 Communication Arts Student Art Exhibition at the Schulman Gallery on May 8. During the event, President John Yudichak and Schulman Gallery Curator Robert Husty presented the President’s Choice Awards to student artists. The exhibition will remain on display through Friday, June 5, and is open to the public weekdays.
