Peterborough Library hosts Jeanne Thieme's art exhibit

The Peterborough Town Library in New Hampshire will host “Keep the Vision 2026,” an exhibition of acrylic and watercolor paintings by artist Jeanne Maguire Thieme, from June 5 through July 30 in its Community Art Gallery. The show includes an opening reception on June 5 and an artist talk and demonstration on June 23, where Thieme will discuss her process. One of her acrylic paintings was recently selected as a finalist in “AcrylicWorks 13: The Best of Acrylic Art” and will appear in a September 2026 issue of “Artists Magazine.”

Hancock artist R. Kipp Miller showcases ‘The Art of Things Found’

Hancock resident and artist R. Kipp Miller is presenting a new exhibition titled 'The Art of Things Found' at the Hancock Town Library gallery, running through June. The opening reception takes place on Saturday, May 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. Miller, who comes from a family of artists, creates works from discarded objects such as wood, glass, bottle caps, iron, and old turntables. He also paints and photographs his found objects, and sometimes collaborates with his son, a fashion photographer in New York City. All pieces in the show are for sale, with 20% of proceeds benefiting the Hancock Library.

Monadnock Center hosts Spring Into Art exhibit

The Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough, New Hampshire, is hosting "Spring Into Art," a regional exhibition featuring work by 43 local artists. The show opened on May 2 and runs through June 5, with gallery hours Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Blue Fern Artists Collective Gallery will host grand opening in Peterborough on Sept. 5

Blue Fern Artists Collective Gallery will hold its grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 40B Main St. in Peterborough, N.H., in a space formerly occupied by Grey Horse Candles. The gallery, founded by Deborah Caplan and a group of local artists, had a soft opening during the Aug. 8 Night Market. It features 18 artists working in diverse media including paintings, drawings, collage, multimedia, ceramics, felting, jewelry, leather work, and photography. The collective is collaboratively owned and run, with each artist paying a nonrefundable buy-in and monthly dues, and working two shifts per month. Artists receive 82% of sales profits, far above the typical 40-50% gallery commission. The gallery is also partnering with MAXT Makerspace to showcase makers’ work and plans to host classes, art history lectures, poetry readings, and evening events in the adjacent alley.
