Jean-Michel Basquiat’s voice still echoes through a Toronto exhibition decades after his death
A new exhibition titled "Jean-Michel Basquiat / Editions" has opened at Taglialatella Galleries Toronto, showcasing limited-edition prints released by the artist's estate over the past 25 years. The show features works such as "50 Cent Piece" (1983), which explores themes of currency, power, and Black history through references to Marcus Garvey, the Federal Reserve, and François Duvalier. Gallery co-owner Alan Ganev discusses the enduring relevance of Basquiat's work and the gallery's expanded programming under new ownership.
