What should art mean? Follow four artists’ 37-year journey through ‘Empat Persepsi’ at KL’s Ruang Teduh Gallery

Four Malaysian artists—Hasnul J. Saidon, Taufik Abdullah, Fauzin Mustafa, and Mohd Noor Mahmud—have reunited for the third edition of their exhibition series 'Empat Persepsi' (Four Perceptions), titled 'Four Perceptions: The Living Continuum,' at Ruang Teduh Gallery in Kuala Lumpur. The show, running until June 8, marks 37 years since their first collaborative exhibition in 1989 at Balai Seni Lukis Negara. It features works exploring nature, memory, spirituality, and material practice, and pays tribute to their late mentor Ismail Zain, a pioneer in Malaysian computer art.

This collaboration with women artisans from the Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute of Fine Arts & Crafts (SSMI) highlights the historical and technical links between textile weaving and computer programming.
