Dom Pérignon has partnered with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to design limited-edition labels and packaging for its Vintage 2015 and Rosé Vintage 2010 champagnes. The designs feature Murakami's signature smiling floral motifs on black backgrounds, described by the brand as an encounter between historical mastery and innovation. Murakami worked with Dom Pérignon's Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon on the project, which is part of a larger series titled 'Creation is an eternal journey' that also includes collaborations with actors, musicians, and chefs.
This collaboration underscores the ongoing intersection of luxury branding and contemporary art, a strategy Dom Pérignon has pursued since 2005 with artists like Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons. Murakami's involvement also reinforces his long-standing relationship with LVMH, the parent company of both Dom Pérignon and Louis Vuitton, where he previously created the iconic 'Monogram Multicolore' pattern. The partnership highlights how blue-chip artists continue to serve as cultural ambassadors for luxury goods, blending fine art with commercial design to reach broader audiences.
