Vietnamese, Indonesian artists explore memory, identity in Ho Chi Minh City exhibition

The 'Memory, Nature, Identity' contemporary art exhibition opened at Lotus Van Art & Community Hub in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, running through June 5, 2026. It features works by more than 11 artists, including Vietnamese painters and Indonesian artists working across visual and experimental forms, with pieces ranging from lacquer paintings and egg tempera works to multimedia experiments and watercolors of heritage architecture. The exhibition includes artist talks, workshops, guided tours, and public exchange sessions.

This exhibition matters because it fosters cross-cultural dialogue between Vietnamese and Indonesian artists, blending traditional cultural references with contemporary experimentation on ecology, spirituality, and human identity. By highlighting local materials and themes—such as Cham culture, southern Vietnamese life, and Indonesian temple heritage—it strengthens artistic connections between the two nations and offers a platform for shared reflection on memory and nature in modern society.
