Art students from Swift Current Comprehensive High School are showcasing their work at the annual High School Art Show, now on display at the West Wing Gallery in Kinetic Exhibition Park. The public reception took place on Tuesday with snacks and refreshments, and the exhibition features pastel sceneries, collages, and hand-drawn pieces. Morghie Flaterud, program coordinator at the Art Gallery of Swift Current, noted that while the show is open to all area students, only Comp students submitted work this year.
The show matters because it celebrates the artistic achievements of high school students in the Chinook School Division and Swift Current area, providing a platform for young local talent to gain public recognition. It also strengthens community engagement with the arts, encouraging residents to support emerging artists. The exhibition runs until June 14 at the West Wing Gallery.
