Le fabuleux bestiaire du photographe animalier Vincent Munier célébré dans le nouvel album de Reporters sans frontières
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has released a new album in its "100 Photos for Press Freedom" series, this time celebrating the work of French wildlife photographer Vincent Munier. The album, titled "Forêts" (Forests), features 82 photographs taken over Munier's 30-year career, capturing elusive animals like snow leopards, Arctic wolves, and red squirrels in remote landscapes from Bhutan to Norway. Proceeds from the album, available from June 4, 2025, fund RSF's global advocacy for press freedom. Munier, a three-time winner of the BBC's Wildlife Photographer of the Year award, is also known for his documentary on the snow leopard, which won two César awards in 2025.
This album matters because it merges art with activism, using Munier's meditative, non-sensationalist wildlife photography to raise awareness about both nature conservation and press freedom. By featuring an artist whose work emphasizes silence, patience, and the fragile sovereignty of the natural world, RSF highlights the intersection of visual art and human rights. The release also precedes a summer exhibition dedicated to Munier at the Photo La Gacilly festival, underscoring his growing cultural significance as a photographer who challenges viewers to reconsider humanity's relationship with the living world.
