Jack White's first public art exhibition ‘These Thoughts May Disappear’ opens in London: "People don't know this side of me”

Jack White has opened his first public art exhibition, 'These Thoughts May Disappear', at Damien Hirst's Newport Street Gallery in London. The show, running from May 29 to September 13, features over 100 pieces including a remake of his 2015 sculpture 'The Red Tree', upholstered chairs, and works made from salvaged materials. White collaborated with Hirst on a reworked Eames chair and describes the collection as revealing a side of his creativity that most people don't know.

The exhibition matters because it marks a significant shift for White, whose sculpture and upholstery work has largely been private for 20 years. It highlights the crossover between music and visual art, and the involvement of Damien Hirst and HENI underscores the growing interest in multi-disciplinary artists. The show also reflects White's personal history, from his childhood in Detroit to his early career as an upholsterer, offering fans and the art world a deeper understanding of his creative practice.
