SPUSD Snapshot | High School Artists Selected for Major Exhibition at the Autry Museum

The Autry Museum has opened a major exhibition titled "Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles" on May 30, 2026. Two artists from South Pasadena High School—current student Alexis (Brylee) Woo and alumnus Brandon Park—were selected by senior curator Carolyn Brucken to have their work included in the show. Brucken discovered their pieces during a student exhibition and curated them into this larger museum presentation, which explores how diverse Angelenos have shaped the city through their interpretations of life, liberty, and happiness.

This inclusion matters because it highlights the Autry Museum's commitment to amplifying youth voices and local community narratives within a major institutional exhibition. By featuring high school artists alongside established works, the museum bridges educational and professional art worlds, offering young creators early career validation and public visibility. The exhibition runs through January 31, 2027, giving these student artists a long-term platform to reach a broad audience.
