A tribute exhibition titled “Integración” will open on 10 June 2026 at the Paraguayan American Cultural Centre (CCPA) in Asunción, honoring the legacy of Lilia Angela Ces, a pioneering figure in Paraguay’s visual arts scene. Organized by artist and cultural manager Horacio Guimaraens, the show brings together over 20 artists—many with ties to Ces’s former project Arte Reunido—and runs through 18 June at the Agustín Barrios Gallery.
This exhibition matters because it formally recognizes Ces’s foundational role in shaping Paraguay’s contemporary art landscape. She founded Arte Reunido in 2011, which evolved from a digital platform into a vital physical space that nurtured emerging and established artists, hosted workshops and talks, and promoted cultural exchange both locally and internationally. By reviving the spirit of Arte Reunido, “Integración” underscores the lasting impact of independent, community-driven art initiatives in a country where such spaces are crucial for cultural development.
