ll fotografo Maurizio Galimberti omaggia “Novecento” di Bertolucci. Con delle Polaroid

Photographer Maurizio Galimberti presents "CinquantaNovecento," an exhibition at Palazzo Ducale in Guastalla, Italy, marking the 50th anniversary of Bernardo Bertolucci's film "Novecento" (1976). The show features 90 Polaroid mosaics and ready-mades that reinterpret the film's iconic images, based on the original on-set photographs by Angelo Novi. The exhibition runs until October 4 and includes a portrait of Bertolucci shot by Galimberti at the Venice Film Festival, a documentary, and a contribution by young photographer Giorgia Ortalli.

The exhibition matters because it demonstrates how contemporary visual art can revitalize cinematic heritage, creating a dialogue between film history, photography, and local territory. By returning the images to the very palace where some scenes were filmed, Galimberti's work underscores the enduring power of visual memory and the ability of art to keep historical narratives alive for new generations.
