Japanese contemporary artist Takuma Tanaka will present a solo exhibition titled "Don't Think, Feel" at The Wall Art Gallery in Miami's Wynwood district, opening June 13, 2026, during Wynwood Art Walk and the FIFA World Cup kickoff. The show features a new body of vibrant, expressive paintings that explore consciousness, intuition, and emotion, with a standout piece directly incorporating Bruce Lee's famous philosophy. Tanaka, who studied law at Waseda University before turning to art, will travel from Japan for the opening, which runs through June 30, 2026.
This exhibition matters because it marks a meaningful return for Tanaka to one of the world's most vibrant contemporary art scenes, building on his international success including a major 2025 solo at Tokyo's Tsunamachi Mitsui Club and works held in the Ulster Museum's permanent collection. The show also highlights the growing intersection of contemporary art with popular culture and philosophy, as Tanaka's interdisciplinary practice—drawing from art, psychology, and sociology—continues to evolve from sharp social commentary toward more personal, intuitive territory, appealing to both collectors and the broader Wynwood art community.
