Danish artist returns to Shanghai with new exhibition

Danish artist and designer Victor Miklos Andersen has returned to Shanghai with a new exhibition at 768 Gallery, running until 21 June. The show, built around the concept of a fictional clinic, explores the relationship between ritual, healing and contemporary art, and is part of Andersen’s residency at NONAME STUDIO. Danish Consul General Jens Alsbirk and his wife Hanne Alsbirk hosted a dinner at their residence to mark the artist’s return, bringing together members of Shanghai’s art and cultural community.

The exhibition highlights the growing presence of Danish artists and designers in China’s contemporary art scene, underscoring the cultural exchange between Denmark and China. By examining how rituals and healing practices can be interpreted through contemporary art, Andersen’s work contributes to broader conversations about the intersection of art, wellness, and cross-cultural dialogue.
