Local artist Sara Zilhaver has been selected for the 103rd Annual Spring Show at the Erie Art Museum, a juried exhibition on view through August 7. Zilhaver, one of 77 artists chosen from over 350 applicants, submitted a diptych titled A World in Her Hands #1 and A World in Her Hands #2, which sold on opening night. She holds a BFA from The Cooper Union and has previously exhibited in Pittsburgh and New York City.
The Spring Show, founded in 1923, is one of the longest-running juried exhibitions in the United States, showcasing contemporary artists from within 250 miles of Erie. Zilhaver's inclusion and the immediate sale of her work highlight the exhibition's role in elevating regional artists and connecting them with collectors, underscoring the vitality of local art scenes and the continued relevance of community-based juried shows.
