《InsaArtWeek 2026》 will take place from June 15 to 23 in the Insa-dong area of Jongno-gu, Seoul, bringing together 38 galleries and art spaces. The event features exhibitions, gallery tours, art walk programs, performances, and visitor events under the theme “Art is everywhere — Art takes alive!” Organized by the Insa Traditional Culture Preservation Association, InsaArtWeek has been held under its current name since 2023, evolving from the former “Insa Art Festival.”
This year’s event matters because it aims to reintroduce Insa-dong to overseas visitors and art lovers amid growing international interest in K-culture. Insa-dong has historically been a center of Korean art, from the Joseon dynasty’s Dohwaseo to its role as a vibrant hub for galleries, artists, critics, and collectors from the 1970s to the 1990s. As Seoul’s art geography has shifted to districts like Samcheong-dong and Cheongdam-dong, InsaArtWeek helps preserve and revitalize Insa-dong’s cultural identity, reminding audiences of its layered art history and ongoing relevance.
