DIA Hosts 5th Annual Wayne County High School Art Exhibition, Showcasing Young Talent

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) will host its 5th Annual Wayne County High School Art Exhibition from June 18 to July 19, featuring over 80 student artworks from 25 schools across Wayne County, including public, private, homeschool, and charter institutions. The exhibition includes photography, textiles, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media, with a celebration event for students and families on June 30. Select pieces will later be displayed at the Guardian Building in downtown Detroit from August 5 to August 24.

This exhibition matters because it highlights the DIA's commitment to nurturing young artistic talent and supporting arts education in the region. By providing a prestigious museum platform for high school students, the program empowers the next generation of artists and reinforces the importance of creative expression in local communities. It also strengthens the DIA's role as a cultural hub accessible to residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties through free admission.
