Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente, California, has opened two new summer exhibitions. The first, "Through the Decades: Artists That Shaped the Festival of Arts," is a partnership with the Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach and runs through September 6, featuring rarely-seen works from the Festival's permanent collection, including "Flower Stalls" by founding artist Virginia Woolley. The second is a Studio Exhibition by artist, architect, and author David Lang, showcasing Asian-inspired pen-and-ink drawings, watercolors, and oil paintings shaped by his decades living in Japan, Hong Kong, and China.
The exhibitions matter because they connect visitors to over a century of Southern California art history while highlighting the cultural ties between two historic organizations. The Festival of Arts exhibition offers public access to works that helped define Laguna Beach's artistic legacy, including pieces from the 1932 inaugural event. For Casa Romantica, the collaboration serves as a prelude to its own 100-year anniversary celebration in 2026, strengthening community engagement and cross-organizational audiences.
