Artist and professor Aisha Tandiwe Bell opened her solo exhibition "Ethos" at the Welancora Gallery in Brooklyn. The show features a video piece with spoken word poetry, mixed-media mounted works, and standalone sculptures that explore themes of displacement, cultural identity, and systemic injustice.
The exhibition is Bell's third at the gallery and presents a powerful critique of greed, destruction, and indifference in contemporary society. Through interconnected works centered on water imagery, Bell connects environmental crises to human struggles, positioning art as a vital space for questioning the status quo and imagining new possibilities.
